My single greatest asset as a publisher is credibility. This statement exists because you deserve to know exactly how decisions get made here, what standards this publication holds itself to, and what happens when we fall short. It is updated when our standards evolve, with the date of each revision noted at the bottom.

On Perspective and Bias

Every publication has a point of view. Ours is grounded in working-class and community perspectives, an interest in systems and power, and a belief that historical context is not optional. We are not neutral on whether workers deserve fair wages, whether communities deserve clean air, or whether power should be accountable. Those are not political positions. They are the baseline from which we do our work.

Where we commit to neutrality is in the facts. We will not distort, omit, or selectively frame evidence to make a predetermined conclusion look stronger than it is. Our analysis is our own. Our facts belong to everyone.

On Sources and Evidence

We name our sources. When we use data, we link to it or identify it specifically enough that you could find it yourself. When a claim rests on a single source, we say so. When experts disagree on something we cover, we present that disagreement rather than flattening it.

We do not quote people out of context, and we do not use anonymous sources to make accusations we cannot otherwise substantiate. When a subject of our coverage declines to respond, we say that too.

On Conflicts of Interest

Our Revolution Media is affiliated with Our Revolution Clothing Co., a circular fashion project operating on related values. We disclose this affiliation on our About page and whenever it is directly relevant to a story. The two projects do not share editorial authority. ORC has no say over what ORM publishes. We do not accept money, products, or access in exchange for coverage. If we ever enter into a paid partnership or sponsored content arrangement, it will be disclosed clearly at the top of the relevant piece, not buried in fine print.

On Community Coverage

We cover LA and broader SoCal communities. We are based in that region. We try to report with communities rather than just about them, which means prioritizing the voices of people who live the stories we tell over the voices of those who analyze them from a distance. We are still learning how to do this well. We are open to being told when we have not.

On Errors and Corrections

We make mistakes. When we do, we correct them publicly. Corrections appear at the top of the affected piece with a clear description of what changed. We do not silently edit errors after publication. If you catch a factual mistake, contact us at press@ourrevolution.media. We respond to good-faith questions about our work and take them seriously, even when they are uncomfortable.
